Capability Statements - Your Company’s Resume
Last week, we joined B2G Victory for a Lunch & Learn session where they presented “Capability Statements – Your Company’s Resume”. It was a great time and the participation from attendees was awesome. If you attended, thank you for joining us! If you missed it, here are some of the highlights from that session.
What is a Capability Statement?
Capability Statements - Your Company’s Resume
Its Purpose is to communicate to potential business partners, stakeholders, suppliers, customers and even employees about your business and your capabilities.
This is a one-page document that is branded to your company and that tells your company’s story. That story is made up of different parts. Here are a few things mentioned during the session:
Identity: What is your contact information? Who are you? What is your tax ID and DUNS number? Do you have any certifications? Have Company Media Links?
Services: This is not the time to be all things to everyone. What is your focus? What is your most profitable service? Narrow this down and focus on the services that will grow your business and help you reach your goals. Know your NAICS /NIGP codes? Be sure to include these and other codes applicable to your services. What industries do you serve?
Operations: Where are you doing your work? What is your geographic reach? Various warehouse locations? Additional offices/cities?
